The LANCOM Boot Camp webinar provides a compact overview of how LANCOM components can be used to set up and operate a business WLAN with manageable switches. The trainer will carry out a live configuration on real devices and explain why certain functions and settings should be configured depending on the scenario and intended use. Errors can affect performance and security, particularly in the area of WLAN. In addition, switches are often only used as a “multiple socket” for RJ45, ignoring important basics.

This boot camp webinar is aimed at administrators who need to set up business networks professionally, efficiently and securely. Due to the limited time available, no customer-specific scenarios or troubleshooting methods can be covered.

The focus of this 2-3 hour webinar is the professional configuration of business WLAN using a LANCOM router with WLC option, various access points and access switches of the 3xxx series.

  • Commissioning a WLAN with WLC
    • Fully automatic commissioning of LANCOM access points
    • Different frequency bands and channel selection
    • Use of multi-SSID by means of VLAN separation
    • Security and encryption methods such as WEP, WPA, WPA2, WPA3, 802.1x with user name/password or certificates, Enhanced Open, LEPS, SSID hidin
  • Basic and “must-use” access switch settings
    • Functions such as spanning tree, loop protection, VLAN, DHCP snooping, IGMP snooping, LACP, LLDP and LLDP-MED
