The LANCOM Specialist Workshop Unified Firewall teaches you the most important firewall skills you need for planning, commissioning and administering a medium-sized local network with LANCOM devices.

Contents of the exam

• The LANCOM Certified Specialist Unified Firewall exam is based on the contents of the LANCOM Specialist Workshop Unified Firewall course. The LANCOM certification exam is valid for 24 months from the day it is passed.

Practical exam

• You will be presented with a scenario corresponding to your workshop, which you will work through independently. Our experts will evaluate your solution and let you know within 2 working days whether you have passed.
• Participants of our trainer-led classroom events: Certification is taken following the workshop as a “practical exam” in the classroom. Typically on Friday morning. The exam is part of the course price.
• Participants of our re-certifiers/repeaters: We offer separate practical examination dates at regular intervals for a maximum of eight candidates per date. The exams take place remotely, i.e. via video conference. You work on a standard lab workstation at the LANCOM Training Center. All you need is your knowledge, stable web access and an ID card.

For both options (in the classroom or remote), please allow approx. 30 minutes for the preliminary discussion and 60 minutes for the practical implementation of the scenario. Please note that we will need to verify your identity. Please have your identity card ready for this.
You will be deemed to have passed the practical certification if you have completed at least 80% of the scenario correctly.

The certification is considered passed if you have solved at least 80% of the tasks correctly.
The maximum processing time is 60 minutes.

The following devices will be used in the workshop (provided by LANCOM):

• LANCOM R&S Unified Firewall (e.g. LANCOM UF-60 or a LANCOM vFirewall)
• PC/notebook with Windows 10 or Windows 11

The Specialist Unified Firewall is based on the former Professional Unified Firewall Workshop and thus forms the basis of the Unified Firewall workshop series.
