LANCOM Expert Workshop Enterprise Class Switching
Redundancy techniques for uninterrupted network operation
The focus of the “LANCOM Expert Workshop Enterprise Class Switching” is on the uninterrupted operation of local campus networks with LANCOM Enterprise Class Switches. The relevant redundancy mechanisms of layers 2 and 3 of the LANCOM reference model for campus networks are covered. In addition to configuration using the console, the CLI commands relevant for troubleshooting are also presented.
Previous knowledge of command line interfaces from other manufacturers such as Cisco or HPE is an advantage for this course, but is not a prerequisite.
Our trainers are network specialists with many years of experience in IT training. In the LANCOM workshops, they will provide you with sound theoretical knowledge, which you can translate into know-how for specific application scenarios in the practical part.

Requirements
Network basics such as IP and VLAN techniques are not explained, or only rudimentarily where necessary. Therefore, appropriate knowledge is assumed.
Knowledge of LANCOM routers or other LANCOM operating systems is not a prerequisite for this course.
Likewise, the contents of the course “LANCOM Specialist Workshop SMB Switching” are not a prerequisite for attending this course, as the courses do not build on each other.
Learning Goals
The aim of this course is to teach all relevant network technologies of the LANCOM reference model for switching campus networks with enterprise class switches. In addition, basic security mechanisms and the commissioning of these switches are also taught. At the end of the course, participants will be able to configure switches of this series using the CLI. This also enables effective troubleshooting.
In addition, this knowledge forms the basis for creating corresponding add-ins in the Lancom Management Cloud LMC.
Qualification
The LANCOM Certified Expert Enterprise Class Switching exam is based on the contents of the LANCOM Expert Workshop Enterprise Class Switching course.
The LANCOM certification exam is valid for 24 months from the day it is passed.
Practical exam
To obtain the certificate, you will be presented with a scenario based on the contents of the workshop, which you will work through independently. Our experts will evaluate your solution and let you know within 2 working days whether you have passed.
The certification is taken after the workshop as a “practical exam” in the course room. Typically on Friday morning. The exam is part of the course price.
For recertification and repetition of the exam, we offer separate practical exam dates at regular intervals for a maximum of eight candidates per date. You must purchase this exam separately.
Please allow approx. 30 minutes for the preliminary discussion and 120 minutes for the practical implementation of the scenario. Please note that we will need to verify your identity. Please have your identity card ready for this.
You will be deemed to have passed the practical certification if you have completed at least 80% of the scenario correctly.
